Getting the right fit for your slip collar is essential for your dog’s comfort and safety. At PK9 Gear, we often get asked how to measure a dog correctly — and it’s actually simple once you know where to start.
🎥 Watch the video below to see exactly how to measure your dog’s head for the perfect slip collar fit.
Key tip: Always measure around the widest part of your dog’s head, not the neck. The collar needs to slide comfortably over their head without being too loose or too tight.
If you don’t have a fabric tape measure, use a piece of string or leather, measure the circumference of your dog’s head, and then compare it against a ruler to get the length.
For example, if your dog’s maximum head size is 50 cm, choose the 55 cm slip collar. Our collars come in 45, 55, and 65 cm sizes — and when in doubt or between sizes, it’s best to go one size up for a comfortable fit.
