What makes the 6ft Biothane Slip Lead different from standard rope slip leads?

The 6ft Biothane Slip Lead from PK9 Gear is handcrafted in Australia with premium Biothane—a waterproof, odor-proof, and durable coated webbing material. Unlike rope slip leads that can absorb moisture, get heavy, and harbor bacteria, Biothane stays lightweight, remains flexible in all weather, and is easy to clean with just water. Its 6mm width ensures a comfortable grip and control, giving you and your dog a safer, cleaner, and longer-lasting training tool.

Is this slip lead suitable for all dog sizes, and can it be used for training?

Yes! The 6ft Biothane Slip Lead’s adjustable slip design fits most neck sizes, making it suitable for puppies through to adult dogs. It’s especially popular for training scenarios like loose-lead walking, basic obedience, and quick slip-on walks. The 6mm wide lead provides enough strength for medium and large breeds, without being bulky for smaller dogs. Many customers mention its versatility and reliability in different training sessions.

How do I care for and clean the waterproof Biothane slip leash?

Biothane is incredibly low-maintenance. To clean your slip lead, simply rinse it under running water or wipe it down with a damp cloth. It dries fast and doesn’t absorb odors, mud, or moisture – perfect for outdoor adventures, rainy days, and dogs who love getting messy. Regular cleaning will keep your lead looking vibrant and feeling soft, as many happy dog owners mention in their reviews!

Is the PK9 Gear Slip Lead comfortable and safe for everyday use?

Absolutely! The Biothane material is soft and flexible in the hand, unlike abrasive rope or stiff nylon. The smooth surface prevents chafing and reduces fur damage around your dog's neck. For safety, always use the slip lead with proper supervision, never leave your dog unattended while tethered, and choose a color that stands out for added visibility. Customers consistently praise the comfortable grip and secure feel—even on energetic dogs.

What are my options if the slip lead isn’t right for my dog?
